How SCARS Uplift Association Came About

My Path to A Miracle

One summer afternoon in mid-September of 2018, God spoke to me to become a motivational speaker. But first, He wanted me to create a Facebook page to connect with my family, friends and potential followers. SCARS was officially created and established on September 27, 2018. God wanted my testimony I experienced in 2013 (featured below) to help motivate and encourage people to use the scars that they face occasionally or frequently as an opportunity to grow and become stronger in God and in the faith. Some people hide their pain; others are not afraid to expose it.

SCARS was created to be used as a tool to help you expose your pain so you can be healed and delivered. In addition, it can also benefit someone else who may be struggling in the same or similar pain you've once experienced, assisting them in their deliverance. God is a healer and a way-maker. If you give Him a chance, He can and will heal you, give you strength and power, and do other miraculous things for you!

My SCAR--The Day My Life Changed

On this day in my sophomore year of college, I played in a football game for Olivet College against Alama College. I originally started at the Tight-End position but on this particular day, I was asked to start at the Slot Receiver position. During a 2 minute drill, towards the end of the 2nd quarter, I ran a "hitch" route. As I caught the ball thrown to me, I wanted to juke the linebacker charging at me, I heard and felt a huge “pop” vibrating down my left leg. While being carried off the field, I prayed to God pleading to Him, "PLEASE DON’T LET THIS BE TRUE!" I was told by Ryan Shockey (Head Athletic Director) that I ruptured my left Achilles tendon. My mom wasn't employed at the time, and my dad had just gotten laid off a few weeks prior. That meant I had no health insurance to cover the cost of my surgery and future appointments. I prayed and prayed… and prayed even more for God to make a way. Two days later, God made a way for Ryan Shockey and Olivet College to help pay a huge portion of my surgery, appointments, and other expenses. All I had to pay was the leftover expenses Olivet didn’t cover.

I had surgery on my 19th birthday (October 14th, 2013). God helped me through physical rehab. Not only that, I was in spiritual rehab, getting closer and having a better connection with God. This injury made me the man I am today. After being cleared to return to football activities, I went on accomplish several achievements and receive a plethora of awards (discussed further in my bio).

What the Devil meant for evil, God meant it for good. I've been headstrong for Him ever since. I'm not ashamed to showcase or talk about my “scar” (Achilles injury) because it is the very thing that made me stronger, higher and faster both physically, mentally, naturally, and spiritually. Therefore, it is my duty to help you become unashamed when revealing your SCAR!
